How to Configure Load Balancer in Moro Cloud

Moro Cloud provides L4 load balancing services out of the box using NFV component called Edge Gateway.

For any L7 load balancing request, please contact your Account Manager.

Enable Load Balancer

  • Select “Virtual Datacenter Tile” in home page Select Edge in left navigation pane Services

  • Select the Load Balancer tab Global Configuration tab, enable the Enabled option Save changes

Configure Pool Members

Pool servers are the real servers that will be behind the load balancer.

Note – Before you configure the Pool Members, make sure you have list of IP addresses to add in the configuration.

  • Select the Pools tab Click the + button.

  • In the Add Pool dialog box, enter a Name, Description and other details as shown in the screenshot In the Members section, click +.

  • In the Add Member dialog box, in the Name field, enter the server Name, IP Address, Port and Weight. When you are done, click Keep.

  • You can add multiple pool members as needed. In this example you can see two pool members.

  • To view the status of pool members, click Show Pool Statistics.

Configuring a virtual server

A virtual server masks the pool of real servers (Pool Members) and presents a single IP address for Load Balancing

  • Select the Virtual Servers tab Click the + button.

  1. In the Add Virtual Server dialog box, enable the Enable Virtual Server option.

  2. Enter a Name for the virtual server, assign it a virtual IP Address, assign it to the server pool you created earlier. You can select the Protocol and port on which Virtual server will respond click Keep.

Conclusion:

We have configured load balancer with below configuration:

  • Virtual IP (VIP) – 192.168.0.1

  • Two pool members – 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3

  • Port on which load balancer accepts requests are accepted: TCP, 80
